D3VC is managed day to day by Sherwood Neiss, who leads sourcing, the investment committee and investor reporting. The venture partners contribute diligence, portfolio construction and industry access; the data and engineering team maintains the scoring models and pipeline. Sherwood's work outside the fund is through Crowdfund Capital Advisors, where he does the policy, advocacy and market research that keeps D3VC at the center of the Reg CF ecosystem; that work is the fund's sourcing and reputation engine, not a competing commitment.

CCLEAR, the dataset behind every D3VC decision, is owned by Crowdfund Capital Advisors and licensed to D3VC's management company on a perpetual, royalty-free basis for the management of D3VC funds. The fund pays nothing for the data beyond the management fee. CCA remains free to license CCLEAR to others and to publish research built on it. GUARDD, a disclosure platform for secondary trading of exempt securities that Sherwood also leads, has no commercial arrangement with the fund; portfolio companies are never required or steered to use it. These arrangements are disclosed in the fund's offering documents.
